Project Manager Home - Navigator Tab

On the Project Manager Home form, the Navigator tab contains several fields and tabs.

Fields

This table shows the fields available on this tab.

Field Description
Multi-Site Group Select a multi-site group to view the data in all shared multi-site groups and the group logged into by the user.

The default value is from the multi-site group specified on the Users form for the logged-in user.

Project Manager Optionally, select another project manager ID or clear this field to return all data.

The default value is the logged-in user ID.

Tabs

This table shows the tabs available on this tab. The majority of the information on these tabs is read-only.

Tab Description
Hot List Shows project resource items that are potentially late

This tab contains the grids:

  • Items: Shows a list of late items
  • Project Resources: Shows the project resources that match the selected item
  • Planning Details: Shows the planning detail for the selected item

The information is from the Planning Detail form. If you select a Project Manager, only the project resource items assigned to the manager's projects and only the manager's project resources are shown.

To filter the items, select the Cutoff Date. The default value is the current date. To show all the items, clear this field.

Projects Shows these grids:
  • Projects: Shows the list of projects
  • Tasks: Shows the project tasks for the selected project
  • Resources: Show the project resources for the selected task

The information is from the Projects, Project Tasks, and Project Resources forms. If you select a Project Manager, only projects assigned to that project manager show up in the Projects grid.

To filter the projects, select one of these options:

  • Past Due: Shows active projects where the current date is greater than the end date
  • Resource Late: Shows active projects where at least one task or resource has a Late Alert
  • Active: Shows all projects with a status of Active
  • Inactive: Shows all projects with a status of Inactive
  • Complete: Shows all projects with a status of Complete
  • All: Shows all projects
WBS Shows these grids:
  • WBS: Shows the list of work breakdown structures
  • Items: Shows the WBS items for the selected WBS
  • % Complete: Shows the percentage completion of the selected WBS.

The information is from the Work Breakdown Structures form.

Note: The Project Manager field does not apply to this tab.
Jobs Shows jobs that are referenced to projects

This tab contains the grids:

  • Jobs: Shows the list of jobs
  • Operations: Shows the job operations for the selected job
  • Materials: Shows the materials for the selected operation

The information is from the Job Orders, Job Operations, and Job Materials forms. If you select a Project Manager, only jobs referenced to projects assigned to the manager are shown.

To filter the jobs, select the Cutoff Date. The default value is the current date. To show all the jobs, clear this field.

To filter the data by WBS, select the WBS.

Purchase Orders Shows a list of purchase order lines tied to projects

The information is from the Purchase Orders form. If you select a Project Manager, only purchase orders that reference projects assigned to the manager are shown.

To filter the purchase order lines tied to a project, select the Cutoff Date. The default value is the current date. To show all the purchase order lines tied to a project, clear this field.

To filter the data by WBS, select the WBS.

Shipping Shows a list of project resource shipments

The information is from the Project Resource Shipping form and shows all shipments where the Qty Shipped is less than Qty Required. If you select a Project Manager, only shipments for projects assigned to the manager are shown.

To filter the shipments, select the Cutoff Date. The default value is the current date. If you select a cutoff date, only shipments which are late or are projected to be late on or before the cutoff date are shown. To show all the shipments, clear this field.

To filter the shipments by WBS, select the WBS. If you select a WBS, only shipments that reference projects that are assigned to that WBS are shown.

Transactions Shows project transactions

The information is from the Project Transactions form. If you select a Project Manager, only transactions for projects assigned to the manager are shown.

To filter the transactions, select the applicable Transaction Types. The default value is All Types.

Exceptions Shows planning exceptions

To view the Exceptions for a selected item, select a Project Resources item.

The information is from the Planning Detail form. If you select a Project Manager, only project resources assigned to the manager are shown.

Cost Code Analysis Shows cost code information for projects

This tab contains these grids:

  • Project: Shows the list of projects
  • % Complete: Shows the cost code summary information for the selected project
  • % Complete Details: Shows the cost code detail information for the selected cost code

The information is from the % Complete and % Complete Details tabs on the Projects form. If you select a Project Manager, only projects assigned to the manager are shown.

To filter the cost codes associated with the project, select Project Cost Codes or Job Cost Codes.

Costing Activity Shows the cost code amounts for 12 periods

The information is from the Project Transactions form.

To filter the data by period, select the Period Type.

Period Costs Shows a graph for the cost of the selected project

The information is from the Project/Job Period Costs form. If you select a Project Manager, only projects assigned to the manager are shown.

To filter the data on the graph:

  • Select either Project Cost Codes or Job Cost Codes.
  • In Starting Year, select the year to begin counting the months.
  • In Starting Month, select the month of the starting year, from which to begin counting the months.
  • In Number Of Months, specify the number of months to show on the graph.

After you change the selection criteria for the graph, click Refresh.

Accumulated Costs Shows a graph for the cost of the selected project

The information is from the Project/Job Accumulated Cost By Period form.

Note: The Project Manager field does not apply to this tab.

To filter the data on the graph:

  • Select either Project Cost Codes or Job Cost Codes.
  • In Starting Year, select the year to begin counting the months.
  • In Starting Month, select the month of the starting year, from which to begin counting the months.
  • In Number Of Months, specify the number of months to show on the graph.

After you change the selection criteria for the graph, click Refresh.
