About Shop Floor Transactions
Shop floor transaction reporting supports Period-Based costing and records
transactions for production schedules and Just-In-Time (JIT) production. Scrap quantities
are reported for production schedules. Material, labor, and machine transactions are
recorded against work centers, not against specific items, as in Job costing. Transactions
require minimal keying and do not require posting, as job transactions do.
