Safety Stock Setup

  1. On theItem/Warehouse form, enter desired safety stock levels for your items.
  2. On the Items form, specify a Time Fence Rule for each item.
    1. For all items where Source is Manufactured, specify Lead Time as the Time Fence Rule, or Accumulated Lead Time, even if safety stock is zero. Do not use Specific Value. Normally, if a manufactured item has safety stock, you will use set its Time Fence Rule to Lead Time. However, consider using Accumulated Lead Time when you cannot assume purchased items in the item's BOM will usually be in stock, or when you are getting safety stock replenishment quantities that are too early and too large.
    2. For all Items where Source is Purchased, specify Lead Time as the Time Fence Rule.
