Lead

On the Leads form, enter the number or code to use for identifying the lead. This number is used to identify this record throughout the system. If you do not specify a number, the system assigns the next unique number available when you save the record.

On the Opportunities form, the lead number is assigned when you create an opportunity from a lead.

On other forms, you can select the lead or the lead number displays.

Note: If you specify a number and the number contains a special character which is the same as the current default wildcard character, you must change the wildcard character. Refer to Using Wildcard Characters for additional information.
