Inserting MailMerge Fields for Contacts in the Communication Wizard Message Area

The contact fields listed below are available to insert as mail merge variables into an email communication that does not use an MS Word template. For example, if you want to personalize an email to two prospects, Joe and Jane. You would select First Name in the Merge Field drop-down for the email to start as "Dear {@FirstName}". When the Communication Wizard creates the emails, it will replace the variable so the emails will start with "Dear Joe" and "Dear Jane."

To insert merge fields:

  1. Place your cursor in the Message box at the desired point.
  2. Select a contact field from the Merge Field drop-down to automatically insert it at the cursor point.
  3. Continue composing the message, repeating for any other merge fields.
  4. When done, click Next and then OK.
    When the communication is created, these inserted fields will be replaced with the appropriate value.
