Communication Wizard Web Client Support (RS 8652)

This feature is in controlled availability. You must obtain a feature key to unlock it on the Feature Management form. The Communication Wizard, which is used to send news, promotions, and other communications to sales groups, group members, or portal users, is now fully supported in the SyteLine web client. The web client offers several enhancements, such as mail merges performed behind the scenes and user-friendly insertion of mail merge fields into email communications.

Same as the Smart Client, you choose a communication type and method; and then the sales group, contacts, or portal users; and then an MS Word template for fax or letter (optional for email). Communications will now be created as follows:

  • For letters and faxes – The system completes the mail merge in the background without opening MS Word, and the SyteLine Task Manager will auto-create a PDF file in the Report Output Files form for convenient viewing, downloading, and printing.
  • For emails (with or without a template) – The system completes the mail merge (if template used) in the background without opening MS Word, and the Application Event System (AES) will send the email.

Same as in the Smart Client, you can still log all communications as interactions for tracking purposes.

Note: Activating RS 8652 enables the ability to use the Communication Wizard in the web client. Enabling this feature will disable the ability to use the Communication Wizard in the Smart Client. To keep the existing Smart Client Communication Wizard, do not activate this new feature.
