Item, Purchase Order Builder

On the Purchase Order Builder form's Item tab, enter or select the item number of the item to be purchased. The drop-down list will show item records from the specified To Site.

Note:  If the Show in Drop-Down Lists check box on the Items form is cleared for an item, it will not display in this field. However, you may manually enter the item without causing an error.

On the Planning tab, the item number of the PLN record displays and cannot be changed.

If you choose an item from the drop-down list, many of the other fields on the Items tab will fill in with default values from the Vendor Contracts form or the Items form at the To Site.

Note: The item does not have to be an existing item at the To Site (that is, listed in the Items form at that site). You can create a PO for non-inventoried items. If you are adding an item to a PO that does not exist in the Items table, the purchase account number defaults from the Purchases field on the Vendors form at the To Site. If there is no number entered on the Vendors form, the number from the Vendor Categories form at the To Site is used. If there is no account number entered on the Vendor Categories form, the number from the Accounts Payable Parameters form at the To Site is used.

If the Master Buy Agreement field on the Vendor Contracts form is selected for this item and vendor, then the system will combine all like items that have the same U/M from all PO lines currently available in the Purchase Order Builder (from both the Item and Planning tabs) into a single purchase order.
