Setting up U/M families

In the Unit of Measure Codes form, all of the units of measure for the standard application are displayed. For Process Manufacturing, each unit of measure must be included in a “UM family” as Quantity, Weight, Volume, Length, Area or Time. For example, Gallon is a Volume, and a 115 KG drum (container) is a Quantity. Using families lets you move between units of measure regardless of item-specific conversions.
  1. For each U/M, select the appropriate U/M Family: Quantity, Weight, Volume, Length, Area, or Time.

    Weight, Volume, and Quantity are currently used for filtering and calculation. The rest are informational and only used for grouping.
