Process Manufacturing initial setup
You can use the buttons on the Process Manufacturing Concept Flow form to open forms where you set up parameters. Alternatively, you can just open the forms from the Forms menu to define the parameters.
- On the Process Manufacturing Concept Flow form, click the Flow tab.
- Use these buttons to set up parameters:
- (on-premises only) Set up user licensing; then click User Permissions to open the Groups form. You can grant or deny users the ability to access Process Manufacturing forms and to perform certain Process Manufacturing tasks.
- (cloud only) Click User Permissions to open the Groups form. You can grant or deny users the ability to access Process Manufacturing forms and to perform certain Process Manufacturing tasks.
- Click Mfg Setup and specify the base weight and volume units of measure, along with other parameters, on the Process Manufacturing Parameters form.
See Setting up Process Manufacturing parameters.Note: The units of measure for the base weight and base volume must be defined with a U/M Family in the Unit of Measure Codes before you can select them in the Process Manufacturing Parameters form. The rest of the Unit of Measure Codes setup can be done later.
- Click Whse Options to define default warehouse information, such as the default routing item and default WIP item, on the Warehouses form.
- Click U/M Classes to define the various classes, or types, of units of measure that you will use in Process Manufacturing, in the Process Manufacturing Unit of Measure Classes form.
- Click U/M and specify a family for each U/M that you plan to use for Process Manufacturing, in the Unit of Measure Codes form.
- Click U/M Conversions to specify conversions between units of measure in the same family, in Unit of Measure Conversions.
- Click Mfg Classes to create classifications for types of formulas, for example food and beverage, in Process Manufacturing Classes.
- Configure operational setup.
After the general parameters for process manufacturing are set up, set up the items and finished goods that will be used in the formulas:
- Click Ingredients to set up items to use in your formulas, on the Items form.
- Click Finished Goods to set up items for your finished goods on the Items form.
- Click Process Manufacturing Item Extensions to set up extended unit of measure information, such as item density and fill quantity, in the Process Manufacturing Item Extensions form.
