WIP item not defined as current material for finished goods

If the WIP item is not defined as a current material on the finished goods item defined in the Processing grid of the specification, this error might be displayed when you click Create Production Order during the Process Manufacturing Create Production Batch process:

Cannot convert fill for [item] to the stock Um for Wip item [item]

To correct the problem:

  1. Open the Items form and select the item that was defined in the Processing grid on the Process Manufacturing Create Production Batch form.
  2. Click the Current Materials button on the Items form to display the Current Materials form for that item.
  3. Define the WIP item as a current material and save your changes.
  4. Try again to create the production order.
