Revising a formula

You might want to update a formula that is in production, but preserve the original version of the formula. With the revision features of Process Manufacturing, you can provide notes about the different revisions and what changed.

Keeping detailed information about what changed in each revision to formulas, and what batches are attached to each revision of the formula, is important for auditing in certain industries.

To create a revision of an R&D formula:

Open the Process Manufacturing Formulas form.
Display the formula to revise.
On the Main tab, enter notes in the Revision Notes field about the changes that you plan to make.
Click Save Revision and confirm the revision when prompted.
This creates an exact copy of the current formula and increments the Current Revision number. The Formula Type for the previous version of the formula is set to Revision History.
