W-2 States to Be Consolidated
Use this form to enter the state codes to consolidate state information on the W-2 forms.
The purpose of this form is to consolidate state information before displaying it on the W-2 forms. For each employee, amounts associated with the Consolidated State Tax Code will be consolidated on a single W-2 with the amounts associated with the W-2 State Tax Code. The state code printed on the W-2 is from the W-2 State Tax Code.
The system includes the consolidated state information from this form when printing W-2 forms if the Consolidated State check box is selected on the Print W-2 Forms Report.
Note: If two State
Codes have been set up to differentiate between married versus single
employees for the same state, and an employee has had a marital status
change throughout the tax year, it is necessary to consolidate the two
State Codes in order to generate one W-2 for the same employee.
