Adding web servers that are used by the configurations

For load balancing, you can install just the Services role on additional servers. A computer that is configured using the Services role provides support for event processing, outbound and inbound replication, and task processing. See the installation guide for more information.

If you have multiple servers through which your clients can access the configurations, define them in the Web Servers tab of the Configuration Manager utility. They will be accessed in round-robin order as session requests come in to the Configuration Server. (See the caution in Creating additional client configurations about running the Configuration Manager utility only on the Configuration Server.)

Note: Do not include DMZ servers in this list.
  1. In the Web Servers tab of the Configuration Manager, click New.
  2. Specify a logical name for the server, and click OK.
  3. Specify the http address of the server and click OK.

The server is added to the list of web servers that the configurations can access.
