Installing the application and creating a database with one site
- Follow the steps in the Infor SyteLine Installation Guide to install the application. During the Add Environment steps, you will create one initialized database.
- If you plan to set up multiple sites in this database, name the database appropriately, taking into account any other sites or entities that you plan to add to it.
Application, form, and object data is all included in this “all-in-one” database. The database you create is automatically partitioned to allow for additional sites.
- Use your SiteEntity spreadsheet (from the planning phase) to specify information about your initial site.
Note: You can create additional databases later, if needed. See Creating additional databases. - If you plan to set up multiple sites in this database, name the database appropriately, taking into account any other sites or entities that you plan to add to it.
- Configure the Application & Web server and other servers, as described in the installation guide.
-
Log into the site and perform the initial setup steps, as documented in the “Setting up the application” chapter in the installation guide:
- Add license information for the site.
- Set initial parameters such as the site’s domestic currency and invoice number length.
Note: Do not add other users yet. - After you create one database and perform initial setup, return to this chapter to perform additional steps.
At this point, you must choose one of these options:
- Create additional sites and entities in the same application database. Continue with Adding a site to an existing database.
- Create additional sites and entities in separate databases and link them together. Continue with Creating additional databases.
