About the Log Monitor form
This form is similar to Log Monitor, a stand-alone utility that is used by Infor to view all activity logged on an Application Server. However, whereas the Log Monitor utility collects all the specified data for the Application Server on which it is running, the Log Monitor form collects specified data only for the configuration in which the form is running. This form is intended to be used as a diagnostic tool by developers and administrators in troubleshooting for their specific user configurations.
Collecting data
Use the Log Monitor Policies form to specify exactly what data you want to collect and view. To access the Log Monitor Policies form, make sure that the Log Monitor form is in Filter-In-Place mode, and then click .
- Data logs are dependent on configuration names. Data without associated configuration names are not collected, stored, or displayed in the Log Monitor form.
- By default, Diagnostics messages, they are displayed only in the stand-alone Log Monitor utility; the Log Monitor form does not display Diagnostics data, even if it is selected on the Log Monitor Policies form. messages and messages are excluded. If you select
Displaying the collected data
The Log Monitor Service captures specified log data as they occur. That data displays on the Log Monitor form, however, only as you open the form or subsequently click the "Refresh the current collection" icon on the toolbar. The data that displays is cumulative for the current tenant.
You can limit the amount of data that is displayed on the form by filtering, using any combination of these criteria:
- Time/Timestamp
- Type
Note: Even though is included in this drop-down list, Diagnostics data does not display on the Log Monitor form at this time. To view Diagnostics data, you must use the application's Diagnostics window.
