Deploying an extension bundle with the Deployment form

Before you can use the extension bundling features in the Deployment form, you must enable the FarmEnableExtensionBundle setting in the Settings Editor form of the Configuration Manager utility, or using the Configuration Manager from a Command Line Interface (CLI). See the help topic about the farm-wide setting for extension bundling in the Configuration Manager help.

Once you have downloaded a deployable zip file of an extension bundle using the Extension Bundles form, you can then deploy that extension bundle in the environment where you want to use it.

  1. Copy the zip file to the machine that is to be used to deploy the extension bundle.
  2. Open the Deployment form.
  3. In the Deploy Applet > Source File field, specify the location of the zip file.
In the web client, click Import to navigate to and select the zip file. In the Windows client, use the ellipses (•••) button to navigate to and select the zip file.
    Note:
    • The ellipses button is not available in the web client or in a partial trust situation. However, you can use the Import button, or designate a path and file name for the file to import.
    • You cannot import files if you are working in a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) environment.
  4. Click Execute Scripts.
The system unzips all the files and inserts the objects into the appropriate locations on the server that hosts the current session.
