About the DataView Builder

Use the DataView Builder wizard to create DataViews and associated criteria forms that are ready to run without any additional designer work.

In the DataView Builder wizard, you can perform these actions:

  • Set the DataView orientation and paper size.
  • Specify user and group permissions.
  • Specify the order and attributes of each property.
  • Group the properties in the report.

Generated DataView

Using the DataView Builder, you can create DataView reports with this information:

  • DataView name, caption override, and criteria form
  • IDO
  • Columns from selected properties
  • Input parameters based on report criteria selections
  • User permissions associated with the user name
  • Group permissions associated with the user name
  • DataView layout with the layout name, column order, grouping, and summaries

Using the DataView Builder, you can create the associated DataView criteria form with these capabilities:

  • Responsive to mobile devices
  • Starting and Ending ranges, with up to four ranges in each set
  • Single value filters
  • Components that you can select based on the data type of the property
  • Preview option that runs the DataView interactively using the DataView Results form
  • Print option that runs the DataView as a background report
  • Increment date functionality for any date components for use on the background queque
