Using the DataView Builder
Note: Before you can use this wizard, you must first verify that
you are authorized to use Runtime Builder forms.
- From the Mongoose toolbar, click the Runtime Builder icon.

In the Runtime Builder Selection dialog box, specify this
information:
- Category
- Select FormBuilder.
- Runtime Builder
- Select DataView.
- Click OK.

In the DataView section of the
DataView Builder, specify this information:
- Enter a name for this DataView
- Specify the name of the DataView.
- Enter a caption for this DataView
- Optionally, specify a caption that replaces the system-generated caption used in DataView reports.
- Select an IDO to use with this DataView
- Select the IDO or the source for the data to be returned
- Enter a name for the criteria form
- Specify the name of the criteria form.
- Enter a caption for the criteria form
- Specify a caption that replaces the system-generated caption used on DataView criteria forms.
- Enter a name for the Layout
- Specify the name of the DataView layout.
- Set Orientation
- Select Portrait or Landscape.
- Paper Size
- Optionally, select the paper size for the DataView report.
- User Permissions
- Optionally, select the user name and the group name of the persons who can access the DataView report.
- Click Next.

In the Properties section, select
the properties to include in the primary collection.
You can use the Search field to find a specific property.
- Click Next.

In the Organization section, specify
the order and attributes of each property that you have included in the primary
collection.
You can select the Criteria Type and Summary Type for each property.
- Click Next.
- Optionally, in the Groups section, select one or more properties to group in the DataView report.
- Click Finish.

Check the generated DataView record and the DataView Criteria form. Perform
these steps:
- On the DataViews Setup form, select and open the DataView record.
- Click Launch.
- In the assocated DataView criteria form, select the criteria to include in the DataView report.
- To run the DataView interactively using the DataView Results form, click Preview.
- To run the DataView as a background report, click Print.
