Initial State

Each event handler can use one or more event variables. The initial values for these variables are defined as initial states. These initial states are defined and modified using the Event Variable Groups form.

When the event handler starts to execute, the system retrieves the values of these initial state variables and uses them during processing. If the system needs to restore variable values because of a failure, it uses these initial state values.

On the Event Variable Groups form, specify in this field the name to be used to identify the initial state.

On the Event Handlers form, from the drop-down list, select the set of variable values that is to be used when this event handler first starts.

On the Event Handler Revisions form, this field is display-only and indicates the name of the initial state associated with the selected event handler.
