Body is in HTML format

If the body of the email is intended to display using HTML formatting, select this check box.

If the body of the email is intended to use plain text, clear this check box.

Note: When using this option, keep these facts in mind:
  • To create a message body that is formatted in HTML, you must embed the HTML code within the body text. You can do this manually or with the help of various functions or expressions that resolve to text with properly constructed HTML code at run-time.
  • You can use functions, such as the SUBSTITUTE function, to enhance or increase the flexibility of your message body. This allows you to have content generated dynamically, based on the conditions at the time the event is generated.
  • As a tip: If you plan to create many messages that use HTML for email body text, you can create specially designated "snippets" of text in expressions and then use those expressions to embed the HTML code in your message body.

When you click OK to return to the Event Actions form, the application displays this as an HTMLFORMAT( ) parameter with the value set to TRUE:

HTMLFORMAT(TRUE)
