Setting up critical numbers – General tab

  1. Open the Critical Numbers Setup form and execute Filter-In-Place.
  2. Select the critical number definition to modify or initiate a new critical number record.
  3. Select the General tab.
  4. In the Source section, provide this information:
    Source Type
    Select the source type:
    • IDO Collection
    • IDO Method: When this option is selected, the Property Name field on the Input Parameters tab is disabled.
    • Stored Procedure: When this option is selected, the Source Name button is disabled, and you must provide the name of the stored procedure manually.
    Source Name
    Specify the name of the source.
    • If the source type is IDO Collection, select the name of the IDO collection.

      To provide specifications for the IDO source material, click Source Name. This launches the Critical Number IDO Source Setup form.

    • If the source type is IDO Method, first use the Source Name drop-down list to select the IDO to which the method belongs. Then select the method from the Method drop-down list.

    • If the source type is Stored Procedure, provide the name of the stored procedure.

    Method
    Select the name of the IDO method.
    Note: This field displays only when the Source Type is IDO Method.

    Critical numbers are loaded by Standard Method. This method only returns one output parameter.

    Calculation Definition
    Specify how the critical number is to be calculated.

    This field is helpful for users who did not create the critical number, and want an explanation of the calculation.

  5. In the Alert section, provide this information:
    Use Alert
    To define an Alert value for the critical number, select this option. If you do not plan to use an Alert value, clear this check box.
    Alert Operator
    Select an operator to use in comparing the Alert value and the actual value.
    Alert Value
    Specify a value to compare to the actual value of the property at the time the data is queried.
  6. In the Goal section, specify this information:
    Use Goal
    To define a Goal value for the critical number, select this option. If you do not plan to use a Goal value, clear this check box.
    Goal Operator
    Select an operator to use in comparing the Goal value and the actual value.
    Goal Value
    Specify a value to compare to the actual value of the property at the time the data is queried.
  7. Save your work.
