DataView control in the Windows client
You can use the DataView control to perform several actions on the data displayed in the DataView results grid.

Layout options
This table shows the

Display options

To display the To create a filter for a column, or to clear a previously applied filter, click the icon of that column. You can select or clear the check boxes of the available data in that column. To search for a specific data, use the search box.Depending on the type of data in a column, you can create custom filters such as number, text, or date filters. To launch the Custom Filter Selection dialog box, click the available custom filter option and then select a filter operator. For example, if the data in a column contains numbers, click and then select a filter operator such as . In the Custom Filter Selection dialog box, specify the Operand for your selected operator. You can also add multiple filter conditions. |

Print options

To see a print preview of the DataView, select this option. The preview displays in a separate window. | |
To launch the Print dialog box and print the DataView display to any local, system-enabled printer, select this option. |
Send To options
Use these menu options to export the DataView into an output file. When you use these options, the current state of the DataView is exported. Features such as column order and visibility,filters, and summaries are preserved and supported in the output file.

To export the DataView as a spreadsheet file, select this option. The output file
opens in Excel, or other compatible spreadsheet application. Note: When you export a DataView in which
summary labels are set to Excel format, you are prompted whether
to include the summary labels in the contents of the output
file. To include the summary labels in the contents of the
output file, select . To exclude the summary labels in the
contents of the output file, select .

To export the DataView as a XPS file, select this option. Note: This option is available only in the Windows client.

Data options

To requery the data with the same search criteria as the current display, select this option. | |
When the number of available records exceeds the record cap of a query, select this option to requery and return more records. | |
For DataViews that have input parameters with no supplied values, select this option to perform a new query using different input parameter values. |
Setup menu
To launch the DataViews Setup form, pre-filtered for the current DataView, select the menu option.
