Implementing a CVMD
You can reduce the database footprint and improve system performance by creating and implementing a Centralized Vendor Metadata Database (CVMD). The CVMD is usually created using a Command Line Interface. The CVMD can implemented (as with all databases) using the Configuration Manager, or it can be implemented automatically in the Infor Mongoose Configuration Wizard.
If you use the Express Configuration option in the Infor Mongoose Configuration Wizard, implementation is accomplished automatically, and so, you do not need this procedure.
The application now pulls all requested vendor-level data and metadata from the CVMD and all other data and metadata from the customer database.
Once the CVMD has been implemented, you can create additional databases that use it. See Creating customer databases to use with a CVMD.
