Using the Replicated Rows Shadow Values Delete Utility

To delete ReplicatedRows3_mst and related replication records, use the Replicated Rows Shadow Values Delete Utility.

Caution:
The use of this utility requires in-depth knowledge of the application database, replication, and business rules. The deletions performed by this utility are PERMANENT and cannot be undone. Ensure that you perform all replication development and testing in a controlled pilot environment before you implement it in a production environment. In addition, because of the large number of records that can be involved, this utility can take considerable time to process records.

If you are uncomfortable using this utility or unwilling to assume responsibility for data loss, we strongly recommend that you contact Infor Professional Services for assistance.

  1. Open the Replicated Rows Shadow Values Delete Utility.
When the CAUTION message displays, to continue, click OK.

    Ending Site Ref
Specify the last Site Ref to be included in the range.

To return records for a single Site Ref, these two fields must be the same.

    Starting To Site
Specify the first Site to be included.
    Ending To Site
Specify the last Site to be included in the range.

To return records for a single Site, these two fields must be the same.

Until these values are provided, both the Refresh and Process buttons are disabled.

  3. To see what records are available for deletion, click Refresh.
The application can return a great number of records. In most situations, you will want to narrow down the number of records to be deleted.

  5. Optionally, to filter out any records that are outside a specfied range of Object Name values, set appropriate values for the Starting Object Name field and the Ending Object Name field.
Tip: To filter out all records except for a single object, use the same Object Name in both of these fields.

You can use multiple clicks of Refresh until you obtain the set of objects you want to delete.

  6. When you have filtered to the exact set of records to delete, click Process.
    Caution:
Reminder: This process cannot be undone, so be sure you are deleting only those records you really want to delete.
The utility initiates a background task for which you can monitor progress using the Background Task History form. There also you can view the Task Parameters that were passed in when the task was fired.

You can also monitor deletion progress using the Refresh button on this form.
