Canceling a task on the Background Task History form

On the Background Task History form, background tasks that are READY to execute or are executing (RUNNING) display no Return Status, and the Completed field is blank. These tasks can be canceled upon request.

In the Background Task History form, verify that the Completed field for the task is blank.
Click Request Cancellation.

Note: This button displays only if the task status is READY or RUNNING (as displayed on the Active Background Tasks form).
When prompted, click OK to confirm.

The Return Status changes to Task Cancelled - Error -2, and the application logs an Error Message.

If the task is RUNNING when you request cancellation, it takes some time to stop the task execution processes. To confirm the cancellation, wait some time and then refresh the form and verify the Return Status and Error Message.
