Scheduling a process to run in the background
- Open the report or utility form that you want to schedule to run in the background, and set your selection criteria and task options.
- If your selection criteria include dates and you are scheduling the process to run periodically, you must increment the date.

From the Actions menu, click Background.
This launches the Background Queue form.

In the Recurrence section, select one of these options:
- Once: If you select this option, set the Occurs Once At date and time fields to the future time at which the task is to run.
- Daily: Use the
Occurs Every field to determine
how often the task is to run.
To have the task run every other day, for instance, set this field to 2.
If you choose this option, you must also set the appropriate options in the Frequency section.
- Weekly: Use the
Recurs Every...Week(s) On to determine how often the task is to run.
To have the task run every other Saturday, for instance, set this field to 2 and select the Saturday check box.
If you choose this option, you must also set the appropriate options in the Frequency section.
- Monthly: To have
the task run on a particular date of each month, select this option.
To have the task run on the 15th day of each month, for instance, you would set On Day to 15 and Recurs Every...Month(s) to 1.
If you choose this option, you must also set the appropriate options in the Frequency section.
- Monthly Relative: To have the task
run on a particular day of each month, select this option.
To have the task run on the last Saturday of every third month, for instance, you would set Occurs to Last and Saturday, and Recurs Every to 3.
If you choose this option, you must also set the appropriate options in the Frequency section.
- Use the Frequency settings that are appropriate to your choice in the Recurrence section.
- To determine the dates on which task processing are to begin and end, make the appropriate settings in the Recurrence Range section.
- Click OK and save.
