Canceling a task on the Active Background Task form
Background tasks that have a status of either RUNNING or READY can be canceled on the Active Background Tasks form. Canceling a task does not delete it or remove it from the set of Active Background Tasks form if it is a scheduled task. It simply stops or prevents the task from running and allows the next task to be executed.
Canceling a RUNNING or READY task that was created by a 'parent' scheduled task does not also stop the 'parent' scheduled task from executing on its schedule. To stop the 'parent' scheduled task you must navigate to the 'parent' scheduled task, verify that it has a status of WAITING, and then you can disable or delete the 'parent' scheduled task.
The Status of the task changes immediately to CANCEL.
If the task is RUNNING when you request cancellation, it takes some time to stop and reverse the task processes. To confirm the cancellation, wait a time and then refresh the form.
If the task is READY when you request cancellation, the form refreshes and the task disappears from the list immediately.
