About Flexboxes
Flexboxes are defined areas within the App Builder canvas, in which you place and
configure the components that make up your app. Initially, the number and placement of the
Flexboxes in your project depends on the project template you choose as a starting point. You
can, however, modify, add, or delete the Flexboxes in your project.
You can make a number of settings that control how Flexboxes display and behave. Among other things, you can make these settings:
- Set the orientation to be horizontal or vertical.
- Make the width or height relative to adjacent Flexboxes (using ratios) or
more absolute, based on pixel dimensions.
Only the width or height of a particular Flexbox is altered, depending on the orientation of the Flexbox, whether it is horizontal (width) or vertical (height).
- Determine what App Builder does with any content that overflows the defined viewing area.
- Set a background color that is different from the default.
- Specify how content within the Flexbox is aligned, horizontally and vertically.
- Determine the amount of padding between the content and the sides of the Flexbox.
- Subdivide the area inside the Flexbox into rows and columns.
