Exporting a data service to a file

You can export a data service in the form of a specially formatted file. You can then copy this file to another system or import it into another App Builder project.

Note: You can also export a data service from your App Builder project to a file. The procedure is similar but not exactly the same. See Exporting a data service (from a project).

To export a data service in the App Builder Repository to a file, use this procedure:

  1. On the Data Services tab, select the data service to export.
  2. Click the ••• icon on the tab toolbar and select Export to File.
  3. In the Export Data Services dialog box, provide a name for the file.
    If you do not provide a name, App Builder uses the current date as the filename.
  4. Click Export.
App Builder saves the data service file with an *.iads extension to your Downloads folder.
