Engineering Workbench

Use this form to create and maintain different types of routing/bills of material from one form.

This form allows you to create and maintain routing/bills of material by easily adding or removing materials from operations. For example, you can copy an operation or material from a Current BOM in the left pane to a Job BOM in the right pane. Use the Related Topics links to view more detailed information on the related BOM materials and operations forms.

Note: You can open the Engineering Workbench from the Engineering Window form. This is a window that provides access and linking between the Engineering Workbench and the Engineering Board within a single form. You can drill down into a BOM right from the Engineering Workbench on the left to see the associated BOM's graphical view on the Engineering Board on the right.

The Engineering Workbench offers these benefits:

One form to add or edit routing/BOMs.
The BOM Filter button to customize views of BOMs.
The Copy BOM button to copy routings/BOMs.
Copy Operation and Copy Material buttons to copy operations and materials from BOMs in the left pane to BOMs in the right pane.
Percent Complete columns that are color-coded for operations and materials in a BOM's Job view.
Issue Material and Issue Labor buttons (Job view only) to open pre-filtered Job Material Transactions and Unposted Job Transactions forms for the selected job.

Note: You cannot edit ECN (revision) tracked items on the Engineering Workbench.

Use the (BOM) View field to select a type of Bill of Material. The first record of that BOM type displays, and the right pane contains applicable fields for that type of BOM. To select a different record of the same type, click the filter button in the toolbar, supply the header field information, and click the filter button again.
