Item Initialization

Although this function does not add items (you must do that from the Items form), it does allow you to update the YTD display-only fields from the Items form. These fields are entered separately from Items because the system posts them automatically. If you enter inaccurate values into these fields, they can corrupt the validity of the cost fields. Information may need to be entered in these fields only when entering historical data for a new item.

If you are using Product Configurator, this utility also allows you to enter the next ID number to be added to an item that is being configured.

The Change Warehouse form is accessible from the Actions menu.

This form has two tabs, one of which is enabled depending on a parameter setting on the Inventory Parameters form. If the Cost Items at Warehouse field is selected on the Inventory Parameters form, the Item Warehouse tab is enabled. If the Cost Items Warehouse field is cleared, the Item tab is enabled.
