Feature Groups
Use this form to define a collection of similar materials called Options. Each option within a feature group has a unique Option Code. Only one option may be selected from a feature group and added to a planning item during configuration.
The Feature Group Option Code will be placed in the feature group's designated location. This location is designated by the qualifier mask.
The qualifier mask is the true determinant of the length of the configuration string used on orders. It is 40 characters in length.
When you delete a feature group, the system first checks to see if that feature group has any associated records. If it does, the delete will be denied.
Caution:
When
you delete a feature group, the system does not check to make sure that
the feature group is not referenced by a FBOM or customer order line item.
However, if a feature group associated with a FBOM or CO line item is
deleted, the product configuration will not function properly.
