Tax-Free Imported Material

Select this check box to designate the item as a tax-free imported material. Clear this check box if the item is not a tax-free imported material. This check box is enabled if Track Tax Free Imported Materials is selected on the Inventory Parameters form.

When you track tax free import materials, the system automatically selects Lot Tracking on the Inventory Parameters form. This in turn makes the Lot Track field on the Items or Multi-Site Items form selected by default when you add a new item. You can clear the Lot Track field when adding new items. Parent items that contain tax free imported material, however, must use a current BOM and be lot tracked.
