Schedule ID Prefix

On the Shop Floor Control Parameters form, enter the default prefix to use for production schedule IDs. On other forms that contain a Job Prefix field, you can either accept the prefix defined on the Shop Floor Control Parameters form, or overwrite the field with a different prefix.

For example, if you enter PS in the prefix field, the default production schedule ID numbers used at this site will be PS00001, PS00002, PS00003, etc. If you do not enter a value in the Prefix field, the default production schedule ID numbers used at this site will be 1, 2, 3, etc. Since the total schedule ID number length includes prefix and digits, longer prefixes reduce the range of numbers available.

A prefix can consist of numeric and non-numeric (letters and symbols) characters. However, the prefix should end with an alphabetic character to ensure that the system increments production schedule ID numbers correctly.

After a prefix is added, this prefix will not affect any existing PS numbers. Also, when entering PS numbers in the system, you may overwrite this set prefix.
