Starting Character

For data items that are text strings, you can display the graphical bars in a color based on a comparison of a subset of the string.

For example, if you have items that have names starting with SP, you can display the graphical bars in a color for every item that matched the first two characters. Select the Compare Substring? check box, and in the Starting Character field, specify 1 (to start comparing at the first character). In the Length of Comparison field, specify 2, to compare two characters deep into the string.
