Priority

This field applies to the Scheduler only.

This field contains the scheduling priority of the job order in relation to other job orders. The Scheduler uses the job's priority with the Job Release Rule, which determines which job to release first when two jobs have the same start date and time. The value must be from 0-9999. You can set the Job Release Rule to release jobs with lower priority value first or higher priority value first.

You can enter the priority manually when you create a job, or you can set it using the Global Priority Setting utility, which calculates job priority based on either due date or a ratio of time to complete versus time available. The Global Priority Setting utility calculates priorities in the range 100-9999, leaving 0-99 open for you to freeze job priorities that won't be changed by Global Priority Setting.
