Plan Safety Stock Before Forecasts

Select this field to cause the planner to process safety stock before planning forecast orders, which prevents forecast orders from consuming safety stock.

Note: If you use this option, ensure that the Order Priority rules are set in such a way that forecasts are separate from other demand types, and that forecasts are planned last in the sequence.

Note: This field applies only to manufactured items. Purchased part swapping, which also handles the safety stock planning for purchased items, is done after all demands are processed, regardless of this field.
