(Per) Lot Quantity/Unit

Unit is the material quantity for each item the job is producing. If Unit is selected, the system multiplies the Qty field by the released quantity of the operation to derive the actual quantity needed.

Lot is a set quantity for the whole job. If Lot Quantity is selected, the system considers the value entered into the Qty field as the actual quantity needed.

For example, if you have a job for five and a material quantity for lot quantity five, each parent item processed through that job receives one of the operations material on the PO created from the material. Or, if the material quantity is unit quantity five, then each parent item processed through that job receives five  of the operations material on the PO created from the material.
