Operation

On the Unposted Job Transactions form, enter the operation number of the job where work has been performed. The Complete flag of the operation must be No in order to post the transaction. This field applies only to transaction types Setup, Run, Move, Queue, and Machine.

When you add a job transaction for an operation that does not exist in the job's routing, the system asks you if you want to add the operation to the job's routing. If you answer Yes, the system prompts for the work center at which the operation is to take place.

When the system adds the operation to the job's routing, it copies the job number, suffix number, operation number, and work center to the Job Routing form and file. You must enter all other information, such as move, queue, setup, and run hours.

EXAMPLE: If Operation 99 is not in job number 34's routing, but is used as the operation number of an Unposted Job Labor ticket for Job 34, the system displays a message indicating that the operation does not exist, and asks you if you want to add to the routing.

If you add to the routing, you must enter a work center number. After you enter this information, the system adds a new operation (99) to Job 34's routing. This operation contains all of the default values from the work center entered, but you must enter all other information (that is not contained within the work center) manually at a later time. If you do not desire a new operation, enter a valid operation number to correct the error.

On the Unposted Job Transactions form, Co-products tab, this field displays from the Unposted Job Transactions form.
