Operation

For the forms where you can select this field, enter or select the operation number for the routing, material, or task. The system uses this number to determine the sequence of steps that the item follows in its flow through your plant. When you add a new routing step, this field defaults to a multiple of 10 (the first step added defaults to 10, the second 20, and so on). We recommend you follow this practice so you can easily insert an additional step between 2 existing steps. The system does not require the work to be performed in this order; however, it uses this sequence when there are move transactions.

Note: When adding materials to operations, the operation number you are adding material to must already exist on the operations form before you can add material to it.
