Offset Type

Select the offset type for overlapping an operation. This value enables a time offset between this operation and the one that follows it. The type defines when to start the second operation:

  • Hours of Cycle Time: Start offset window after overlap value hours of cycle time have completed. For example, if you enter 1 for the Offset Value, the next operation will start after 1 hour of cycle time has completed.
  • Hours of Setup & Cycle Time: Start after offset value hours of setup + cycle time have completed. For example, if you enter 1 for the Offset Value, the next operation starts after 1 hour of cycle time and 1 hour of setup time have completed.
  • No offset: Next operation does not overlap.
  • Items: Start after setup and cycle time for offset value items has completed. For example, if you enter 100 for the Offset Value, the next operation starts after the setup and cycle time for 100 items has completed.
  • Percent of Cycle Time: Start after offset value percent of cycle time has completed. For example, if you enter 10 for the Offset Value, the next operation starts after 10% of the cycle time has completed.
  • Percent of Setup & Cycle Time: Start after offset value percent of setup + cycle time have completed.

Note that buffers (Finish Time/Move Time) and overlap are opposing actions. If both are used, buffers negate overlap--if Finish Time > 0 for the overlap operation, or the Move Time > 0 for the operation following the overlap operation, overlapping is ignored.
