Must Use Future POs Before Creating PLNs

Note: This field is enabled only when the source of the item is Purchased.
Note: Selecting this field may make a demand late, if the item is on the critical path.

Select this field to cause the APS planning engine to consume purchase orders and inventory before creating a new planned purchase. If there are enough inventory and purchase order supplies prior to the item's due date, the planner will use them and continue on. Otherwise, the item will consider inventory plus any purchase orders (regardless of receipt date) necessary to satisfy the quantity. The item's planned usage date will be the receipt date of the latest purchase order used. If the item quantity is now satisfied, planning will continue. Otherwise, the remaining quantity will be satisfied by creating a planned purchase.

If safety stock is defined, the safety stock demand will be planned as a regular demand, using the standard pull and push logic, before the swapping pass. Then, during the swapping pass, the safety stock demand will be treated as a regular demand. No extra safety stock processing will occur.

No move-in exception messages will be generated for purchase orders used in this manner. Move-out exception messages will be generated only if the earliest usage of the purchase order is later than the receipt date.  Not-needed exception messages will also be generated for purchase orders that do not have any demands using any of their supply.
