Job Prefix

On the Shop Floor Control Parameters form, enter the default prefix to be used for job numbers. On other forms that contain a Job Prefix field, you can either accept the prefix defined on the Shop Floor Control Parameters form, or overwrite the field with a different prefix.

EXAMPLE: If you enter UX in the Job Prefix field, the default job numbers used at this site will be UX00000001, UX00000002, UX00000003, etc. If you do not enter a value in the Job Prefix field, the default job numbers used at this site will be 1, 2, 3, etc. Since the total job number length includes prefix and digits, longer prefixes reduce the range of numbers available.

A prefix can consist of numeric and non-numeric (letters and symbols) characters. However, the prefix should end with an alphabetic character to ensure that the system increments job numbers correctly.

After a prefix is added, this prefix will not affect any existing job numbers. Also, when entering job numbers in the system, you may overwrite this set prefix.
