Fixed Overhead

Enter the fixed overhead portion of the total cost for the current Item.

On the Current Materials and Estimate Materials forms, you can update this field only if the Rev Track field on the Items form is set to N. If the Rev Track field is set to Y, you can update this field via an Engineering Change Notice.

On the Production Schedule Item Materials and Production Schedule Release Materials forms, these notes apply:

Note: 
  • Material overhead rates are used when applying overhead to material costs, as opposed to labor costs. Fixed and variable labor overhead rates can be entered on the Department form. The system applies material, labor, and machine overhead rates according to the criteria entered in the Overhead Basis field on the Work Centers form, Scheduling tab.
  • The Fixed Overhead Cost field entered on the Production Schedule Material Costs form will be used only for non-inventoried items. The system will use the values from this form for costing. While you can update this field for an inventoried item, the system will ignore the update made on this form and use the appropriate costing for the item.
  • Fixed Overhead rates do not apply to by-product items.
