External Ship Status

This field indicates whether the shipment of an order line is currently in progress in an external warehouse. The value is updated automatically by the external warehouse application through BODs sent to SyteLine. The field can have these values:

• Blank indicates that the warehouse used for this order line is not controlled by an external application.
• Unallocated can indicate either that work has not begun on the shipment in the external warehouse application, or that the order has shipped.
• Allocated indicates that the shipment is being worked on in the external application.

  When this field is set to Allocated, you cannot change these values on the order line, because that would affect the shipment:

  • Quantity
  • Unit of Measure
  • Scheduled Ship Date
  • Item

When the External Ship Status is not set to Allocated and a user makes a change that affects an order line that is to be shipped from an external warehouse, the External Whse Line Changed field on the Transfer Orders or Transfer Orders Quick Entry form is automatically selected.
