Copy Routing

Select this check box if the alternative you are creating should derive item costs by copying the existing BOM and routing for items added to the costing alternative.

After the option is selected, the record is saved, and items are added, you have two options. You can freeze the record to create a historical snapshot or you can click the Current Operations and Current Materials buttons to open forms for making costing changes for analysis. The changes can be reviewed and compared with current or standard costs, or another costing alternative, but they cannot be rolled to current to be automatically saved to master files.

When this check box is clear and the costing alternative record is saved, the current BOM and routing are not included with items added to the costing alternative. In this case, changes for the costing alternative must be made on the Product Codes, Departments, Work Centers, and Materials tabs. These changes can be analyzed and rolled to current.

On the Costing Analysis Alternative Copy form, this check box is display-only and is based on the setting saved on the Costing Analysis Workbench form for a selected costing alternative.
