About Intra-Site Transfers

In SyteLine, APS and MRP forecast planning can include a step to consider transit time between manufacturing and distribution warehouses within a given site. The process considers independent demand at warehouses that have dedicated inventory and that are set to plan intra-site transfers. Independent demand can be customer order lines and blanket lines, forecasts, project resources, or inter-site transfer orders.

Planned intra-site transfers are defined using these settings:

  • From Warehouse: The site default warehouse
  • To Warehouse: The distribution warehouse with independent demand
  • Scheduled Ship Date: The demand due date minus the intra-site transit time
  • Scheduled Receive Date: The demand due date

Planned supply orders are created based upon these items:

  • Manufactured items: The current BOM, production lead times, and demand due date
  • Transferred items: The supply source, lead time, and demand due date
  • Purchased items: The lead time, demand due date, and distribution warehouse

You can specify transit time, in days, for intra-site transfers on the Warehouses form, General tab.

The Intra-Site Transfer Master Display form displays general intra-site transfer information for your review. From this form, you can drill down on a selected transaction for detailed information. And from the Intra-Site Transfer Detail form, you can firm a transaction to create transfer orders and transfer order line items.

For steps, see Firming Planned Intra-Site Transfer Orders.

The Intra-Site Transfer Master Display Report displays information about each warehouse and item for your review, and theIntra-Site Transfer Order Action Report shows the planned orders (PLNs) you must firm for a given item to be available when needed.
