Adding widgets to homepages

Note:  SyteLine-specific predefined homepages and widgets are available in the catalog as soon as the SyteLine application is added into Infor OS Portal or Infor Ming.le.

Each predefined homepage includes a default set of widgets related to a specific role, for example, Customer Service or Inventory Control. Additional widgets are available for many of the roles. All of the available widgets are described later in this section, under the appropriate roles. SyteLine widgets can be used on any homepage, but users must be assigned to the appropriate SyteLine permission group/Infor OS Portal or Infor Ming.le security role in order to display the widgets.

Do not add or remove widgets on the predefined homepages. You can make a copy of any homepage and then edit the copy to add or remove widgets. You can also create a custom homepage and add SyteLine-specific widgets.

  1. From the Infor OS app menu, select Homepages.
  2. Add one generic homepage to use as a default, if one does not already exist.
    Note: This default homepage, which is displayed initially when you log into Infor OS Portal or Infor Ming.le, should not contain any SyteLine widgets, because the SyteLine application must be started before the widgets are displayed.
  3. Open the SyteLine application in Infor OS Portal or Infor Ming.le.
  4. In the Homepages app, create or copy the homepage where you want to add a widget. Save the page.
  5. On the homepage, click Add Widget to open the widget catalog.
  6. Under Categories, select Application. You should see a lot of application-related widgets. You can use the filter icon in the toolbar to find specific widgets.

  7. Select the widget you want and click + (Add Widget).
  8. Close the catalog and save the page to view your new widget.
    Note: You must have the appropriate authorization in SyteLine to access the underlying .home form in order to display it in the widget.
  9. If the new widget is a predefined widget, you are finished. If it is a SyteLine widget, you must configure it to specify the form:
    1. Click Configure Widget.
    2. Select or enter the .home form to display in the widget. (There are two different SyteLine form widgets: one where you select the form by caption and the other where you type in the complete .home form name.)
      Note: You must have the appropriate authorization in SyteLine to access the .home form in order to display it in the widget.
    3. Click Save.The widget shows a login page.
  10. If the widget does not show any data, follow these steps:
    1. Log out of SyteLine and Infor OS Portal or Infor Ming.le and close the browser.
    2. Log into Infor OS Portal or Infor Ming.le and open the SyteLine app again.
    3. Open your second homepage and verify that the widgets are shown as expected.
      You might still see the login page instead of the .home page inside the widget. If so, select your configuration and click Workstation Login. The widget should then display the correct .home page.
    Note: The homepage widgets use the theme that you set in the SyteLine user preferences page.
  11. Resize the widget appropriately.
