Using the Fixed Asset Movement Report to show acquisition, depreciation, transfer, and disposal asset transactions
Use the Report Template field to specify Standard, which is summarized information for the specified date range, or Detail, which provides historical information about fixed asset purchase, depreciation, transfer, and disposal transactions for the specified date range.
You can also use other options to filter by ranges of class codes, assets, vendors, locations, or departments, and to filter by certain status codes and asset types.
For EU countries where a Fixed Asset Movement Report is required, set this report to show Detail for all fixed assets where the status is Active, for a specified tax period such as the fiscal year. You can use this information when you prepare the appropriate form to submit to the authorities.
Most of this information comes from the Fixed Asset Depreciation form, with these exceptions:
- Additional cost: Sum of the fixed asset enhancement or replacement costs
- Total cost: Sum of all fixed asset costs (purchase, enhancement, and replacement).
- Remaining year start: Total cost – Accumulated depreciation – Current period depreciation + YTD depreciation
- Remaining: For disposal transactions, use Total cost – Accumulated depreciation – Current
period depreciation – Bonus depreciation
For other types of transactions, use Total cost - Accumulated depreciation – Current period depreciation
