Remediating the database

Run the Remediate phase when the Validate phase has returned a Failed status.

  1. After the database is connected and the Validate phase has run and failed, run the tool again.
  2. Select the options that you want to perform: See “Remediation tasks” below.
    • Fix incorrect or missing objects
    • Drop unapproved objects
    • Rename unapproved tables and columns
  3. Click Remediate to run the database remediation tasks.

During processing, a bar indicates the tool’s progress, and the tool displays the current preparation task.

When the process is complete, either Successful or Failed is displayed.

  4. If the Remediate phase returned a Successful status, run the Validate phase again to see if any problems remain that must be corrected manually.
  5. If the Remediate phase failed, click View Log to view the preparation phase log. See “Preparation Log” below.
  6. Perform manual corrections to the database and then rerun the Validate phase.
